Celebrate Cornwall’s rich mining heritage with our beautifully crafted Carlyon & Sons Tin Ingot – Redruth, a timeless keepsake inspired by the historic heart of tin mining.
Redruth is widely known as the capital of tin mining in Cornwall, and this ingot draws from that proud legacy. Featuring a traditional Cornish engine house stamped into its surface, the design captures the spirit of the region’s industrial past. The “Carlyon & Sons, Redruth” name adds to the story — a fictional mining company created to give the piece a sense of authenticity and heritage-inspired character.
Made from 100% pure tin and weighing approximately 54 grammes, this solid ingot has a satisfying weight and a refined finish. Its clean, classic proportions make it an elegant display piece, perfect for a desk, shelf or mantelpiece. Whether you have a connection to Cornwall or simply appreciate its history, this ingot offers a unique way to own a small piece of that story.
Tin is also the traditional material for a 10th wedding anniversary, symbolising strength, flexibility and enduring love. This makes the ingot an ideal tin anniversary gift, offering a distinctive alternative to more conventional presents. Its understated, heritage-inspired design makes it equally suited as a gift for him or her.
Measuring 86mm x 17mm x 6mm, the ingot has a sleek and balanced profile, combining simplicity with character. The engraved detailing and traditional styling ensure it feels both timeless and meaningful.
Perfect as a Cornish keepsake, 10 year anniversary gift, or a thoughtful present for birthdays, Father’s Day or retirements, this tin ingot is a lasting tribute to craftsmanship, storytelling and tradition.
A simple yet meaningful piece, it’s more than just an ingot — it’s a celebration of Cornwall’s heritage, brought to life through thoughtful design and imagination.
Tin - Product care advice
Tin is a durable yet soft metal, so gentle care keeps it looking its best. Clean tin products and jewellery with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, and harsh chemicals, which can scratch or dull the surface. Store items separately to prevent knocks and scratches, ideally in a soft pouch. Remove tin jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising, as moisture and chemicals may affect the finish. With simple care, tin will retain its natural shine and character for years. Light polishing occasionally restores brightness without removing the metal over time.
